Susan Tveekrem’s class sequences and information on Iyengar yoga

Bio

Susan Tveekrem teaches and studies Iyengar yoga in the mid-Hudson valley region of New York. Susan began her yoga studies in 1997 with Sandra Kopell in Middletown, CT, and has taken intensive workshops taught by Peentz Dubble, Joan White, and Kevin Gardiner. Since 2005 she has studied with Barbara Boris in Woodstock, NY. She holds a teaching certificate from the Yoga Institute of Houston and has been teaching Iyengar-based yoga for over 6 years.

Susan holds a Master of Arts in World Music from Wesleyan University, where she studied South Indian classical (Karnatak) music from T. Viswanathan and Ramnad Raghavan. From 2000-04 she was a member of the Bala Music and Dance Ensemble, accompanying bharata natyam dancers Lakshmi Knight and Aniruddha Knight both vocally and on clarinet. She continues to perform Karnatak music both in India and throughout the United States.

Currently employed as the Managing Director of the MFA program at Bard College, Susan lives in Poughkeepsie, NY with her husband and spends her free time gardening, hiking, biking, kayaking, and supporting the Poughkeepsie Farm Project.
